Day 282 | March 4

Another travel day. Started the day with breakfast at De Lolita, a cafe near my place that I wish I had taken the time to try at the beginning of the month. Then we met with the rest of the team at the park and started heading to the airport. On the way we stopped at a really nice equestrian center, Equus. Some folks rode but I didn’t want to get all “horsey” before the flight so I just hung out in the cafe and worked. Then on to the airport for an easy flight to Lima. My place in Lima is quite nice, close to the ocean and being on the 16th floor it has some great views.

Day 281 | March 3

Began the day with the monthly ritual of packing up my entire life. You’d think over the course of a year of doing this that I’d have gotten faster at the process. But fitting all of my belongings into two carry-on bags requires a pretty consist two hours of meticulous packing. After that I worked from home until it was time for our farewell party at La Mayoria. Kind of an interesting concept of a place; it’s a restaurant up in the mountains but they also have animals and mid-meal they had horses out on the floor doing dressage and a guy singing… a lot going on. But neat place and the views of Medellin were gorgeous.

Day 280 | March 2

Another work focused day. I worked from home in the morning and then headed over to the work space in the afternoon. On the way I got distracted, though, and had lunch at LUCIA in The Charlee. Pretty good Italian place, not overwhelming. Worked at the office for a while before gathering up my laundry for packing day tomorrow and heading back home. Started working when I got back home, forgot to eat dinner and called it a late but productive night.

Day 279 | March 1

Still feeling my deep-focus work vibe but now we are closing in on the end of our time in Medellin which means I have the usual changing city errands to run… much to my annoyance. This meant I felt rather harried even just getting out of the apartment to drop off laundry. I worked at the work space for a while and then went over to Alambique to continue working with the assistance of snacks and drinks. The time had finally come to replace some elements of my limited wardrobe so on the way home I had to pick up some clothes I had bought. Tangent, tailored apparel for $30 in Colombia, what? Headed home and continued with my head down working.

Day 278 | February 28

A little bit of a break in my streak of deep focus from yesterday. I went to Ganso and Castor with one of my roommates for breakfast and to work in the morning but then came right back home and continued to power through working until pretty late into the night.

Day 276 | February 26

Late start to the day and I headed up to Querido to investigate reports that they had chicken and waffles on the menu. They did and they were quite good but nothing to write home about. Meandered back home and worked for the afternoon. Met another Remote for dinner and drinks at Clandestino. We tried to head to a more local like live music place but after driving all the way out there we discovered it was closed so, sadly, the evening ended with drinks at some beer place in a mall. Which seems to be where everything is located in Colombia.

Day 275 | February 25

Mostly just lounged around the house and worked today. I’ve been meaning to update some elements of my wardrobe and being as I currently live across the street from a mall I finally bit the bullet and took care of that as well. In the evening some of us went to Trilogia Bar which is a neat place with live music on the weekends. Their house band has about ten members and plays on this rotating stage in the middle of the place, really cool.
